Pokey Creek Farm

USDA Certified Organic

We are mountain farmers. Thirty six years ago we moved to North Idaho to live simply, raise a family and grow food. Building a log cabin with our own trees we settled into a rustic, and remote lifestyle. We are blessed to combine our love of the forest with our love of farming.

We farm 2.5 acres on our land. To extend our short growing season, we’ve built greenhouses and hoophouses. We are Certified Organic and water with deep clean well water. All our seed is organic when varieties are available. We buy seed only from sources that have pledged to be GMO free. We use cover crops, haul manure and ask questions of our sources to get materials that are pesticide free. We also have started an acre elderberry project on our property to explore the benefits and compliment our farming income.

We farm 5 acres of our big crops on leased land on the St. Joe River out of St. Maries, Idaho. It is deep rich river bottom soil that grows sweet carrots wonderful potatoes, beets, sweet big onions and much more. We also grow 2 to 5 tons of 11 varieties of potatoes . This year we are offering to grow and sell bulk orders of potatoes, carrots, parsnips and strawberries. our prices are what we sell to the CO-OP and Pilgrims wholesale. We will only sell in 25 and 50 pound bags. Orders of carrots and beets must be made by June 5th (potatoes and Onions by June 28) to have time to plant and grow in field. Delivery to Moscow will be in Late September and Late October.

We sell at 5 farmers markets: two in Coeur d’Alene, one in St. Maries, the Moscow Saturday Market, and Palouse Grown Market. Feel free to stop by Pokey Creek Farm at the Saturday Moscow Market where I have been a vendor for 15 years. I’m in front of Casa de Lopez.
